is founder and teacher of desiringGod.org and chancellor of Bethlehem College & Seminary. For 33 years, he served as senior pastor at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up in Greenville, South Carolina, and studied at Wheaton College, Fuller Theological Seminary (B.D.), and the University of Munich (D.Th.). For six years, he taught Biblical Studies at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and in 1980 accepted the call to serve as pastor at Bethlehem. John is the author of more than 50 books and more than 30 years of his preaching and teaching is available free at desiringGod.org. John and his wife, Noel, have four sons, one daughter, and twelve grandchildren.
is co-founder, with Tim Keller, of The Gospel Coalition. He is research professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. He has been at Trinity since 1978. He has served as assistant pastor and pastor and has done itinerant ministry in Canada and the United Kingdom. Carson received the Bachelor of Science in chemistry from McGill University, the Master of Divinity from Central Baptist Seminary in Toronto, and the Doctor of Philosophy in New Testament from the University of Cambridge. Carson and his wife, Joy, live in Libertyville, Illinois. They have two children. In his spare time, Carson enjoys reading, hiking, and woodworking.

He is also the founder and board chair of CBI Japan in Nagoya, Japan which includes a graduate level theological seminary (Christ Bible Seminary), church planting efforts (All Nations Fellowship), and various outreach ministries (including the Heart & Soul Café). Michael received his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania where he also did his undergraduate degree and a master’s degree. His theological training (Master of Divinity) was received at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and he also completed a master’s degree in Japanese Studies at Harvard University. He and his wife Pearl have 5 children.

She uses the same skills serving patients in the emergency room as she does helping women build their faith and manage critical decisions. As a single woman in her 40s, Lina thrives in life and invites others to experience the freedom and joy of following God’s unique plan. She has served as the women’s ministry director at Harvest Bible Chapel in Chicago, IL. She has written Thrive: The Single Life as God Intended and Stripped: When God’s Call turns from Yes to Why Me?
